Engineering Management

This is a very strong area for us as we have an excellent collection of experienced team leaders who understand the value of properly specifying scopes of work in the first place, as well as the efficient execution of the work.  Our intention is to provide a stand alone service in which a discrete package can be handed over in the knowledge that it will be well handled from start to finish. For us, ensuring there is correct alignment of expectations is critical so we put in considerable effort to start that way and through regular proactive reporting maintain confidence that the project is well handled. There is no substitute for good engineering but it takes a bit more for a project to go well.

High-Level Conceptual Engineering

3-D modelling has a place in the Oil & Gas industry if used correctly.  We have found that it can slow down the design process if not handled well so we take a considered approach to using Autodesk INVENTOR. We use it for detail design but have found it invaluable when evaluating the best configuration for packaging of the equipment items on vessel decks.   While it may take some time to create models of individual items the effort pays dividends as the model is used time and time again.  The best results, however, are the storyboard sequences in either powerpoint or as avi’s which demonstrate the operational procedures and how configuration changes are carried out.  This is a very powerful communication device that gets everybody on the same page at the same time.

Detail-Level Engineering

As well as having excellent concept engineering capability, we have the skills and experience to turn the good ideas into great bits of kit. Our engineers are skilled at the art of design and have a wealth of experience creating detail drawings for manufacture, and providing the calculations packs to prove the design. These calculations can be provided as manual calculations, mathcad, excel spreadsheet or FEA as required. Most of our equipment is designed to Offshore Design Codes such as DNV or Lloyds, and we are familiar with submitting drawings and calculations for Third Party Approval.

Manufacturing Equipment

All the good work done at the design stage comes to nothing if the manufacturing and commissioning stages are not well handled. Being centrally positioned in the UK we are able to be very proactive during the manufacturing stage of equipment. The attention to detail and willingness to follow through to the end makes all the difference.

Offshore Support

Most of our staff are up to date with our medicals and offshore survival qualifications and are ready and willing to follow the work offshore to ensure all goes well.  While it helps our clients to have us available to address any issues when they happen, it is also a marvellous way of increasing our experience levels and gaining lessons learned. If there are any opportunities to help offshore we would want to be there and be right in the thick of it.
